Dr Theresa Redaniel appointed Acting Director of the National Cancer Registry Ireland
The National Cancer Registry Ireland (NCRI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Theresa Redaniel as Acting Director.
Dr Redaniel has been appointed by the NCRI Board to serve as Acting Director for a period of up to six months, or until a permanent Director is appointed, whichever occurs sooner. The appointment will support continuity of leadership and delivery of NCRI's strategic priorities while the process to appoint a substantive Director is completed.
Dr Redaniel currently serves as Head of Research and Analysis at NCRI and has made a significant contribution to the organisation since joining in 2024. An epidemiologist and health services researcher, her work focuses on applied health research, implementation and evaluation. Throughout her career, Dr Redaniel has worked across academia, the non-governmental sector and industry, bringing a broad range of experience to the role.
Prior to joining NCRI, Dr Redaniel held research positions at the University of Bristol, and previously worked on cancer epidemiology, data science, primary care and public health research internationally. She holds a doctorate from the University of Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Centre and an MSc in Epidemiology.
The NCRI Board and staff congratulate Dr Redaniel on her appointment and wish her every success as Acting Director.
