Bridie O'Sullivan is a highly experienced nursing and midwifery leader with more than 20 years' experience across clinical practice, executive leadership, quality improvement, and healthcare transformation. She has held a number of senior leadership roles within the Irish health service, including Regional Director of Nursing and Midwifery, where she provided strategic leadership to advance nursing and midwifery practice, strengthen professional governance, and improve the quality and safety of patient care across a complex healthcare system.

Throughout her career, Bridie has led large-scale service improvement and organisational transformation initiatives, working collaboratively with clinical, operational, academic and executive leaders to deliver sustainable improvements in healthcare quality, workforce capability, and patient outcomes. She has extensive expertise in professional nursing and midwifery leadership, clinical governance, quality improvement, workforce development, and the implementation of national health policy.

Bridie is recognised for her collaborative and inclusive leadership style, her ability to build strong partnerships, and her commitment to supporting excellence in nursing and midwifery practice. 

A Registered General Nurse and Registered Midwife (RGN, RM), Bridie holds a Higher Diploma in Gerontological Nursing, a Master's Degree in Gerontology, and a Diploma in Quality and Leadership. She is also an Adjunct Clinical Professor at University College Cork, reflecting her ongoing commitment to advancing nursing and midwifery education, leadership, and professional practice.
