Cancer trends - Cancer of the prostate

This report highlights trends in prostate cancer in Ireland. Prostate cancer incidence increased by 4% annually between 1994 and 1998, but then increased sharply between 1998 and 2004. Cancer incidence increased in all age groups but the oldest (85 and over). The largest absolute change in case numbers between 1994 and 2009 was in the 55-64 year age group, from 134 cases in 1994 to 859 in 2009 (15% annually).
