Conference Ambassadors' Award for Dr Harry Comber

At a recent Conference Ambassadors’ Award Ceremony hosted by Cork Convention Bureau, Dr Harry Comber was presented with an award for hosting the 34^th International Association of Cancer Registries Conference in Cork in 2012. The event was a truly international one which attracted more than 400 delegates involved in cancer research from all over the world. A number of other European Cancer Registries bid to host the event but the National Cancer Registry of Ireland were the winners. An event such as this raises the profile of the National Cancer Registry on the international stage and makes a big contribution to the local economy.
